2025 Rolls-Royce Ghost interior and exterior changes

The facelift for the Ghost brings a blockier design, also seen on the Series II Cullinan. The lower grille area of the front bumper is smaller, and the DRLs wrap around the outer corners of the main projector lamps. The refreshed Ghost’s rear features a new, banded design for the tail-lights. There are two 22-inch alloy wheel options to choose from.

The Ghost Extended has a 170mm longer wheelbase than the Standard model’s 3,645mm.

On the inside, the facelift gets several new material options, including Grey Stained Ash and Duality Twill; Rolls-Royce says that the average Ghost buyer spends about 10 percent of the car’s retail price on customisation. The brand also says that a full Duality Twill interior takes 20 hours to complete and consists of 2.2 million stitches and about 17.7km of thread.

Ghost Extended Series II, Clients who seek the inherent agility and scope for Bespoke that Ghost Series II represents, but require the indulgence of superlative rear seating space, are invited to commission Ghost Extended Series II. The motor car offers 170mm more space in the rear suite, enabled by extending the rear doors and apertures only, which preserves its elegant silhouette.

Clients seeking the most elevated expression of Ghost Extended Series II can also commission the marque’s reclining Serenity Seating, which recalls a private aircraft cabin experience. Like Ghost Series II, a Champagne cooler can also be requested. Rolls-Royce specialists consulted with a Master Sommelier and learned that the optimum serving temperatures of non-vintage Champagne is, on average, six degrees Celsius and for vintage Champagne, is broadly 11 degrees Celsius. Accordingly, the cooler operates two cooling modes, chilling to six degrees and 11 degrees Celsius.

These enhancements come at no cost to the motor car’s exceptional dynamic capabilities. Indeed, Ghost Extended clients almost unanimously commission this motor car for self-driving with the benefit of enhanced rear seating space, rather than retain the services of a chauffeur.

The cabin also features a new glass panel that spans the width of the dashboard. Updates to the digital instrument cluster’s software means buyers can colour-match it with the exterior. Rolls-Royce also claims that the in-car connectivity system has been upgraded, allowing passengers at the rear to connect two streaming devices to their corresponding screens. The rear infotainment system can also be paired with wireless headphones. The amplifier for the music system is a 1,400W unit, up from the 1,300W system available on its predecessor.

Along with sportier aesthetics, the Black Badge also gets a more powerful engine.

Mechanically, the Ghost facelift is identical to the outgoing model, and features the same 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 and 8-speed automatic gearbox. In the Standard and Extended version, this engine makes 563hp and 850Nm, while in the Black Badge it makes 592hp and 900Nm. The company claims that it has raised the brake point on the Black Badge, decreased pedal travel, and added a ‘Low’ drive mode with 50 percent quicker gear changes when the throttle is 90 percent open.

Ghost Series II, A new interior material named Grey Stained Ash has been crafted to complement Ghost Series II’s elegant design enhancements. Like so much of Rolls-Royce’s artisanal expressions of luxury, this extraordinary new material represents the coalescence of traditional master craftsmanship and innovation. This richly-grained, natural open-pore wood is stained by hand and enriched with microscopic metallic particles to create a unique and highly contemporary shimmering effect – a technique that took more than four years to develop.

In Black Badge Ghost Series II, the formidable V12 engine is presented in a high-power configuration, producing 29PS more power and 50NM more torque than Ghost Series II. As with all Rolls-Royce Black Badge models, the ‘Low’ button situated on the gear selection stalk unlocks Black Badge Ghost’s full suite of technologies, including a 50% increase in gearshift speeds when the throttle is depressed to 90%, and a subtly more voluble note from the motor car’s exhaust system – features that dramatise, but never compromise the effortless Rolls-Royce driving experience.

To harness this additional power, the Black Badge Planar Suspension system is used for Black Badge Ghost Series II. As with Ghost Series II, this decorated chassis technology incorporates a unique Upper Wishbone Damper unit above the front suspension assembly. This is linked with continuously variable, electronically controlled shock absorbers and self-levelling air strut assemblies front and rear to create an even more agile expression of the marque’s signature ‘magic carpet ride’.

To inspire driver confidence, when exploring the motor car’s significant power reserves, the braking bite point has been raised, and pedal travel decreased, directly responding to client requests for a uniquely potent expression of the Rolls-Royce brand.

Ghost Series II also continues Rolls-Royce’s exploration of textiles with Duality Twill, a new rayon fabric made from bamboo. During a research trip, members of the Rolls-Royce design team visited Le Jardin des Méditerranées on the Côte d’Azur, which neighbours Sir Henry Royce’s former winter home, Villa Mimosa. One of the botanical garden’s defining features is an extensive bamboo grove, which Sir Henry would have seen, that inspired this innovative fabric. The twill textile is embroidered with a ‘Duality’ graphic, an abstract interpretation of the interlinked initial R of the marque’s founders’ names. In another allusion to the French Riviera, the design hints at the interweaving rope lines found on sailing yachts.
