Mercedes India to Hike 3% Price from New Year
Mercedes-Benz India has announced a price hike of approximately 3% across its entire product range, effective from January 1, 2025. The price increase is a result of several external factors, including rising material costs, inflationary pressures, and growing logistical expenses, all of which have escalated the operational costs for the luxury carmaker. While Merc acknowledges the impact of these price adjustments, it emphasized that the company is absorbing most of the cost burdens, with only a nominal portion being passed on to customers.
Details of the Price Hike
The price hike will affect various models in lineup, with some significant increases for high-end variants. For example, the GLC SUV, which starts at Rs 75.90 lakh, will see an increase of around Rs 2 lakh. On the other end of the spectrum, the ultra-luxurious Maybach S 680 V12 sedan, priced at Rs 3.43 crore, will experience a price jump of up to Rs 9 lakh.
However, the price increase will not apply to units that are either already in stock or to cars that are booked before December 31, 2024. This means that any customer who places an order or finalizes a booking before the deadline will not be affected by the upcoming price hike, which gives buyers a window of opportunity to secure cars at the current rates.
Reasons Behind the Price Hike
Mercedes India has cited multiple reasons for the price increase, including the surge in raw material costs, higher inflation, and logistical challenges that have increased the overall operational expenses. These factors have placed substantial pressure on the brand’s financial performance. However, they has assured its customers that despite the hike, the company will continue to provide high-quality vehicles that justify their premium pricing.
