The Mahindra Thar Roxx has achieved a stellar 5-star safety rating in the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP), excelling in both adult and child occupant safety categories. In crash tests, the Thar Roxx earned 15.09 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a full 16 out of 16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test. Its performance in the side pole impact test was deemed acceptable, providing a high level of safety overall. The vehicle also passed Bharat NCAP’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC) evaluation, though the programme does not assess body shell stability in detail.
Child Occupant Safety
Matching the Tata Punch EV’s record, the Thar Roxx scored 45 out of 49 points for child safety. It received full marks in both the dynamic test (24/24) and the child restraint system installation test (12/12), while scoring 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment test. The tests used 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies secured in rearward-facing child seats with ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg, ensuring maximum protection.

Bharat NCAP evaluated the MX3 and AX5 L variants of the Thar Roxx, with its safety rating applicable across all trims. Key safety features include:
